A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Boston was held in the Christopher A. Iannella Chamber, City Hall at
11:50 on Wednesday, May 7, 2008
Councilors Present: President Feeney in the Chair. Absent Councilor Tobin.
Clergy:Brother Ross Chamberland, Capuchin Friars, delivered the invocation and the meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

Adjourned at 2:40 p.m. on motion of President Feeney in memory of Henrietta Warner, Helen A. McMillian and Jorge Palmarin, to meet again on Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. The papers acted upon at the foregoing meeting of the City Council, which contain action requiring the approval of the Mayor, were deposited in the Mayor’s Office on May 9, 2008. 0565 Councilors Turner and Councilor Yancey offered the following:Resolution urging the Boston Police Department to either add blanket immunity from prosecution to its “safe Homes” program or ensure that the “consent to search” is indeed voluntary by making police visits to homes informational only, with parent being asked to call them back if they would like for a search to be conducted. Referred to the Committee on Public Safety. On motion of President Feeney, the meeting went in Executive Session at 12:40 p.m., to discuss legal matters, yeas, 12, nays 0. Recess The purpose for which this meeting was called, having been accomplished, the Chair declared the meeting adjourned at 2:13 p.m.
0566 Councilor Ross offered the following:Order that Rule 34 of the 2008 City Council Rules be suspended on May 14, 2008 in order to have a meeting of the Committee on Boston Common. On motion of Councilor Ross, the rules were suspended; the order was passed.
