1540 The Committee on Ways and Means and Education, to which was referred on November 17, 2010, Docket #1540, message and order authorizing the City to accept a grant of Thirteen Million Dollars ($13,000,000.00) from the Boston Redevelopment Authority, for the purpose of designing, constructing, renovating and equipping the Quincy Upper School, submits a report recommending the order ought to pass.

1541 The Committee on Ways and Means and Education, to which was referred on November 17, 2010, Docket #1541, message and order approving an appropriation of $550,000.00 for the feasibility study for major rehabilitation of the Quincy Upper School. The statement of interest for the Quincy Upper School, which was approved by the City Council on June 27, 2007, has been accepted by the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA, submits a report recommending the order ought to pass.

1592 The Committee on Government Operations, to which was referred on December 1, 2010, Docket #1592, message and order approving a Petition for a Special Law re: “An Act to Facilitate the Mediation of Mortgage Foreclosures of Owner Occupied Residential Real Property in the City of Boston”, submits a report recommending the order ought to pass in a new draft.

1652 The Committee on Government Operations, to which was referred on December 8, 2010, Docket #1652, message and order authorizing the Department of Innovation of Technology to enter into a contract for a period of up to eight years for the procurement of software licenses, implementation services and maintenance and support of a computer aided dispatch system and a records management system, submits a report recommending the order ought to pass.

1653 The Committee on Government Operations, to which was referred on December 8, 2010, Docket #1653, message and order for the confirmation of the appointment of Robert Smyth to the fifth seat on the Boston Retirement Board for a term expiring on January 15, 2012, submits a report recommending the appointment ought to pass.

1685 Communication was received from Michael Ross, President of the Boston City Council that the City Council will meet December 16, 2010 in the Cahners Theater at the Museum of Science to meet with the Cambridge City Council on the economic Competitiveness of our region.

1686 Communication was received Edward L. Glaeser, Chair, Citizen’s Committee on Boston’s Future to Michael Ross, President of the City Council transmitting a final “chairman’s report”.

1687 Communication was received from Councilor Pressley, transmitting an informational report on Docket #0225 (Teen Pregnancy).

1688 Communication was received from Councilor Pressley, transmitting an informational report on Docket #0965 (Order to understand the challenges faced by families impacted by violence and gather their recommendations regarding the City’s response system) and Docket #0209 (Order to investigate social services available to victims of community violence.
