Committee on Environment and Health, which shall concern itself with environmental and public health issues of residents, including the impact of industry on quality of life. The committee shall concern itself with the natural resources of the city, issues of air, land, and water pollution, and open space conservation as well as recycling and other resource recovery efforts issues related to waste disposal and land reclamation. The committee shall provide a forum for residents to express their concerns about a variety of diseases and conditions, especially those exacerbated by factors associated with urban living. The committee shall have oversight of the Boston Public Health Commission, Neighborhood and Community Health Centers, the Air Pollution Control Commission, Boston Conservation Commission, and the Environment Department. |
