There are over 900 miles of streets in Boston's infastructure, of which 780 miles is maintained by the
Highway Construction and Maintenance Division. Services include any major and permanent repair to
streets and sidewalks, such as reconstruction and resurfacing, utility trench repair, and driveway and
pedestrian ramp installation. This section is also responsible for overseeing Capital Construction Projects.
Our forces can also be called upon to temporarily repair street and sidewalk potholes to a safe condition until
permanent repair can be made to the location. To request a sidewalk or roadway repair please call 635-4950.
