A Sweet Place is a new-fashioned twist on an old-fashioned candy shop that opened in 2012 in Fields Corner. They have 500 candies from which to choose, including sugar-free selections, as well as candy bouquets, candy buffets and party favors. Coming soon: ice cream, cupcakes and coffee! Profiled in the Globe, the Dorchester Reporter and the site of one of the first Cash Mob Dorchester “hits,” they are becoming a sweets destination for the Boston area. Owners Beverly Hilaire and Mae Riggs emphasize neighborhood pride, “We want to be the change that we want to see in our own neighborhood.”
