    Municipal Energy Data Disclosure

The Building Energy Reporting and Disclosure Ordinance requires the City of Boston to annually disclose the energy and water use of municipal facilities. The preliminary data available below presents data on 295 municipal facilities for calendar year 2012. The report includes total energy use, total greenhouse gas (GHGs) emissions, energy use per square foot, GHGs per square foot, and total water use. Some of the data may be incomplete, and all figures should be considered tentative.

The City is in the process of implementing an Enterprise Energy Management System (EEMS), which will systematize energy and water data collection for all municipal facilities. When installation of the EEMS is complete later in 2013, the City will issue a revised report. The final report will also include Energy Star scores for all eligible facilities.
