Need a way to escape the summer heat? Head over to one of many pools, cooling centers, and sprayers located throughout the city! From the Splash Fountain at the Christian Science Center to state owned pools all over the city!

Community Centers and pools will be open. Call the Mayor's 24 Hour Hotline at 617-635-4500 for the cooling center closest to you.

State Owned Pools

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation owns and operates many pools and spray decks in and around Boston, including Brighton, Dorchester, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Roxbury and more.

Frog Pond Spray Pool

The Boston Common Frog Pond will be open daily through Labor Day.


Christian Science Center Spray Pool

See the newly landmarked Christian Science Center Plaza and play in the spray fountain.

DCR manages over 50 inland beaches within the Commonwealth's State Park system.

State Saltwater Ocean Beaches

Most DCR swimming beaches are open to the public between Memorial Day and Labor Day.  During that time DCR offers access to parking, restroom facilities and regular water quality testing.  Many DCR beaches also offer lifeguard services.  After Labor Day and before Memorial Day, DCR does not conduct regular water quality testing or guarantee other beach services.
