Toys For Tickets
In keeping with a successful holiday tradition in Boston, Mayor Thomas M. Menino announced that any driver issued a non-public safety parking ticket on Boston’s streets between November 29 and December 1 may resolve their ticket by providing a non-violent, wrapped toy of equal or greater value than the fine on the ticket. Drivers who would like to participate must bring the parking ticket as well as a receipt for the toy.

Free Holiday Parking
Weekend shoppers will enjoy two free hours of metered parking throughout the city's commercial districts, including downtown on consecutive Saturdays starting November 26th through December 24th, as well as on Friday, November 25th. While the meters will be free on these days, a two-hour time limit will be enforced by the Boston Transportation Department to accommodate as many visitors as possible in shopping districts.As is tradition, two hours of free parking at City of Boston parking meters will be offered on Friday, November 23, and for six consecutive Saturdays beginning on November 24 and ending on December 29. While payment at meters will not be required on these days, the two-hour time limit will be in effect and enforced to give as many visitors as possible a chance to take advantage of the opportunity
