HD 2702 An Act Relative to a Local Options Meals Tax
This bill would allow a city or town to levy an additional 1% on the meals tax by local option. Other manifestations, including one that redistributed ¼ of the total increase to all 351 cities and towns, have had varying success in recent years.

HD 2717 An Act Relative to Property Tax Classification in Cities and Towns
This would reverse a 2004 law that changed the classification formula to allow a reduction in the commercial business factor to 170%. This bill would set the rate back at 175%.

HD 3901 An Act Permitting Cities and Towns to Impose an Excise on the Use of Off-Street Parking Facilities
This is a common fee imposed in most every major city. EPA parking restrictions in Boston limit supply and increase the price artificially.

HD 3818 An Act Relative to the Storage Fee for Towing
This bill would attempt to increase the storage fee for all towed vehicles, resulting in an increase of up to $5.00 per tow. Currently BTD charges a maximum of $15.00 per day, and the Dept. of Telecommunications and Energy (DTE) allows a maximum of $20.00 per day. This is a companion piece to the towing fee change made in 2003.

HD 3399 An Act Relative to the Full Reimbursement of 50% of the Entitlement for Public School Transportation
This act provides for the commonwealth to reimburse 50% of the transportation entitlement for (non-regional and non-private/parochial school) students. Reimbursement for school transportation to Boston is projected to be $11.4M.
