Divisions are the vanguard of the Boston Fire Department. They are a waiting army maintaining a constant state of readiness to respond to a myriad of emergencies (fire fighting, medical, vehicle extrication, hazardous material, confined space, structural collapse, trench collapse, high angle rope, tunnel, etc.) which occur in and about the City of Boston.
