On June 14, 2009, the Boston Fire Department observed the 116th Memorial Service for its firefighters. It also was the 100th anniversary of the Firefighter’s Monument at Forest Hills Cemetery.

General Barry McCaffrey Addresses Boston Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)
Retired General Barry McCaffrey was the guest speaker at the Boston Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) meeting held May 27, 2009 on the campus of the Boston College Law School. General McCaffrey spoke on a subject that he is very familiar with, "Leading during Crisis."
