On January 16, 2010, Mayor Menino joined Governor Deval Patrick and other local officials for a ground breaking ceremony at Jamaica Plain's 270 Centre Street, a mixed-use development that will add 30 affordable rental units, as well as retail and office space, to the J.P. neighborhood. The development received a total City investment of more than $4M for both the commercial and residential components, including $1.7 million as part of the City’s share of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding, leveraging a total $10.5 million in other public and private resources.
