A friendly competition, Deck the Windows focuses on businesses located in a Boston Main Streets district, although the City encourages businesses city-wide to showcase their festive holiday spirit. Part of Mayor Menino's Lights on Main Streets initiative, the contest is designed to brighten neighborhood business areas during the holiday season by:
Drawing residents and visitors to Boston’s Main Street districts and highlight the unique gifts that shoppers can find in Boston’s neighborhoods;
Heightening awareness of the City's annual Holidays on Main Streets shopping campaign; and
Showcasing Boston's support of locally-owned businesses.
Round 1: December 1st - 8th
A local judging panel selected the top 3 storefronts from each Boston Main Streets district. The 1st place winner from each district advanced to Round 2.
