Andrea Joy Campbell was elected to the Boston City Council as District 4 City Councilor on November 3, 2015. Her district primarily includes the neighborhoods of Dorchester and Mattapan, and parts of Roslindale and Jamaica Plain.
Born and raised in Boston and educated in all Boston public schools including Boston Latin School, Andrea went on to graduate from Princeton University and UCLA Law School. She began her law career at a non- profit in Roxbury providing free legal representation to students and their parents in education matters including school discipline and special needs cases. She has worked as legal counsel in both the private and public sectors, and prior to her election, served as deputy legal counsel for Governor Deval L. Patrick.
Councilor Campbell is dedicated to ensuring that every resident of District 4 has access to the same resources and opportunities she had growing up in Boston. Her primary focus includes efficiently and effectively delivering constituent services to the residents of District 4, as well as education, housing and public safety issues.
Andrea lives in Mattapan with her husband, Matt.
