Permits for Raffles and Bazaars

Guidlelines and additional information for hosting events such as raffles, bazaars, Las Vegas Nights, or any type of poker games in the City of Boston.

    Requirements:

  1. The group sponsoring the event must be a registered NON-PROFIT organization registered with the MA Secretary of State's Office for the past two (2) years.

  2. A $30.00 Filing Fee is required in the form of money order payable to the City of Boston or cash if paying in person at the City Clerk's Office, Room 601.

  3. A current copy of your Articles of Organization (a copy can be obtained from the MA Secretary of State's Office).

  4. A copy of the ISD Occupancy Permit for the location where the event is being held.

  5. A copy of the Fire Assembly Permit must also be included as well as a copy of the contract agreement for equipment utilized for a Las Vegas Night.

  6. All events must make arrangements for a paid police detail for a Las Vegas Night, Bazaar, Poker or Texas Hold'Em events. A listing of Boston's Police Districts is attached for your information.

  7. The application and Notice of Issuance of Raffle and/or Bazaar forms MUST be completed.

  8. Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office no later than 30 days prior to the event.

  9. You must also submit a completed Event Report Form (attached to the Raffle Application) within one (1) year of the date of your event. Raffle/Bazaar/Las Vegas Night permit renewals will not be granted until previous year's report is filed.

    *All public business transactions MUST be completed by 4:30PM before cashier closes.

  • New Daycare Business Requirement

    When registering a daycare business in the City of Boston, daycare providers are now required to provide a copy of a valid state issued daycare provider license.
