    The Cornish Project

    The Cornish Project presents An Apron Full of Beans. This project includes poetry and prose by Sam Cornish. The performance was adapted and directed by Marshal Hughes in collaboration with Roxbury Repertory Theatre and Boston Latin Academy. There will be three performances February 28th - March 1st.     A Day of Service and Celebration in Honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

    The Mayor’s Office of Arts, Tourism & Special Events, the Museum of African American History and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO) presented its free tribute concert in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. last Monday, January 16, 2012, at 1:00pm at Faneuil Hall.  The program featured a moving selection of classical music, spirituals and freedom songs performed by the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras’ Intensive Community Program, conducted by Marta Zurad. Local author, psychiatrist, educator, and respected social critic, Dr. Alvin Poussaint delivered the keynote speech.     Mayor Menino Unveils Public Art Walk

    Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino unveiled the first edition of a new program - Public Art Walks. The Mayor’s Office of Arts, Tourism & Special Events, together with the Boston Art Commission, have developed the Art Walks, featuring both historic and contemporary art installations throughout the neighborhoods of Boston.
