Historical note


The following cities and towns were annexed to Boston: City of Roxbury (1868); Town of Dorchester (1870); City of Charlestown (1874); Town of Brighton (1874); Town of West Roxbury (1874); and Town of Hyde Park (1912). Records of annexed cities and towns can also be found in the Boston Public Library.
