City agencies are working together on a spring cleanup program to resolve the lingering effects of a harsh winter. We encourage residents and businesses to help with this effort by reporting issues and complying with parking regulations.

    Spring Leaf and Yard Waste Collection

    Help reduce the City's waste. Leaf and yard waste will be collected for composting from Monday, April 30 through Friday, May 25, on your recycling day.

    City Repairs Damaged Crosswalks

    After a harsh winter that damaged many of the city's crosswalks and other pavement markings making it difficult for motorists and pedestrians to use, Mayor Menino launched the Mark It campaign to repair over 600 crosswalks as well as other pavement markings across the city.

    Hazardous Waste Disposal Spring/Summer Drop-Off Events Scheduled

    Boston residents can safely dispose of hazardous waste for free at two events this spring/summer. (Note: Latex paint is no longer accepted at hazardous waste events. Latex paint is not hazardous. Let latex paint dry out completely, then set out with your regular trash.)

    Neighborhood streets throughout the city will be swept clean on a rotating schedule each week through November 30th. Vehicles are required to be moved in accordance with the posted Street Cleaning regulations.
