The Boston Parks and Recreation Department invites teens ages 15 to 18 to take part in its Umpire Training Program beginning March 31. Participants learn to umpire in a hands-on, classroom environment throughout the spring. Upon completion of the training, participants are guaranteed summer employment through the Department of Youth Engagement and Employment working as umpires in the Mayor’s Cup Baseball Tournament and Boston Citywide Baseball League.
