If you want to have a boot removed from your car, you need to first pay your violations and fees.

Pay your outstanding violations and fees

You can make your payments at the Parking Clerk’s office:

  • 1 City Hall Square, Room 224Boston, MA 02201
  • Office hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Or you can make your payments at the City of Boston Tow Lot

  • 200 Frontage RoadBoston, MA 02118 (Phone: 617-635-3900)
  • COVID-19 update: The City of Boston tow lot is only open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. In-person meetings are not available at this time. For more information, call 617-635-3900 or email btd@boston.gov.

To find the balance you owe, you can call 617-635-4410, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The boot removal fee is $90.

We remove the boot from your car

The City will remove the boot from your car about 90 minutes after you make your payment. If you make a payment after 7 p.m., we will remove the boot the next day.

  • Payment Info:
    • The City accepts cash, a cashier's check, a money order, or a debit or credit card from Mastercard or Visa.
    • We will not accept personal or business checks.
