BCYF offers a range of affordable programs including preschool, school-aged & adult education, family literacy, youth employment, violence prevention & intervention, senior activities, recreation and enrichment. BCYF’s 35 facilities are located throughout Boston.
This summer employment program introduces participants to all aspects of photography. Led by a professional photographer the program includes opportunities to conduct “photo shoots” around Boston, visit museums and art galleries, dedicated computer lab time to edit digital photos, weekly personal development workshops led by John Hancock, and the responsibility of serving as a “staff photographer” at various events for Boston Centers for Youth & Families.
Want to be a lifeguard? This FREE training program for high school youth ages 16-18 will provide Pool Skills and Classroom Instruction to qualify for Lifeguard Certification. See flyer for details.
Across every neighborhood of Boston, BCYF community centers offer a rich menu of summer opportunities for young people and their families. Whether it’s a traditional summer day camp or a sports league, a new rock climbing instruction program or an educational offering, you'll find it all inside BCYF Summer Guide 2014.
Beginning in September, the BCYF DraperPool will undergo a renovation. The BCYF Draper Pool staff and programming will move to the West Roxbury Education Complex Pool on the VFW Parkway in West Roxbury but pool memberships will also be honored at any of BCYF’s 14 other pools.
The new HiSET Exam (formerly the GED) for Massachusetts High School Equivalency is now in place. This new exam is computer based (taken on a computer) and BCYF is one of the first places in Massachusetts to offer this exam.
