WILLIS NORMAN PENNEY

Willis Norman Penney United States Navy 13 February 1924 – 4 September 1946 Willis Norman Penney was born on February 13, 1924 in Boston. As a resident of South Boston he showed his love for this country when he enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve on July 28, 1942 and began active duty five months later on December 13, 1942. Willis served as Lieutenant in the Pacific; he was KIA on September 4, 1946 due to a plane crash over Portsmouth Rhode Island. Willis was awarded the Distinguished Flying cross and survived by his mother Annie Penney, a resident of South Boston.
