MARK M. PFC MCLAUGHLIN

Mark Michael McLaughlin United States Marine Corps 22 April, 1948 – 18 February, 1967 Mark Michael McLaughlin was born on April 22, 1948 in Boston. A resident of Dorchester, he enlisted in the Marines on May 23, 1966 as a Private First Class. In the Marines, he served as a Rifleman with Company A, 1st Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment. On February 18, 1967, Private McLaughlin was killed in action near Danang, Vietnam by an enemy explosive device. For his sacrifice and service, he was awarded the Purple Heart. Mark was survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. John H. McLaughlin and is buried in the New Calvary Cemetery. His name can be found, memorialized on Panel 15E Row 59 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
