William Edward Clancy was born on December 17, 1948 in Boston. As a resident of Dorchester MA, William enlisted into the United States Army on October 14, 1968 and began active duty that same day. William served as Specialist Four with the Americal Division, 26th Engineer Battalion, and Company A. He was KIA in San Francisco, California on September 16, 1969 as a result of bacterial endocarditis, staph septicemia, and meningitis. For the heroism displayed in his service to our country, William was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. William was survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. John A. Clancy a resident of Dorchester.
