Candeloro O. Salvato United States Army February 8, 1922 – November 6, 1944 Candeloro O. Salvato was born on February 8, 1922. He served the United States Army Air Corps as a Private in the 28th Bomber Group, Heavy, and the 77th Bomber Squadron. Candeloro was declared dead while missing on November 6, 1944. For the heroism displayed in his service to our country, Candeloro was awarded the Purple Heart, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. He is memorialized in Charlestown where his family resides.
