Lawrence T. Borden United States Army 3 August 1944 – 13 September 1966 Lawrence Thomas Borden was born to Kenneth and Mary Borden on August 3, 1944 in Malden, MA. As a Charlestown resident Lawrence displayed his devotion for our country when he enlisted in the United States Army on April 29, 1964. Specialist Four (SP4) Borden proudly served in the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. He was killed in action in South Vietnam from hostile small arms fire on September 13, 1966. For extraordinary heroism in service of our country, SP4 Borden was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Borden’s body is buried at Glenwood Cemetery in Everett, MA. Lawrence was survived by his parents, residents of Charlestown.
