JOHN NOONAN Army

John Joseph Noonan United States Army 11 April 1911 – 6 June 1944 John Joseph Noonan was born on April 11th, 1911 in Boston. As a resident of Charlestown, John was inducted into the United States Army on December 9, 1942 and began active duty that same day. Noonan served as Private First Class with the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division and Company L. John was killed in action on June 6, 1944 in Omaha Beach, Normandy, France. For the heroism displayed in his service to our country, John was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge and the World War II Victory Medal. Private First Class Noonan was survived by his wife Margaret Noonan a resident of Charlestown MA.
