GEORGE K. MENICHIOS

United States Army 14 April 1890 – 10 October 1918 George K. Menichios was born on April 14, 1890 in Megalopolis, Greece. Pvt. Menichios valiantly served our country with Co H, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Division of the United States Army during World War I. He was killed in action on October 4, 1918 when his company was engaged in a fierce battle in the Montrebeau Woods, which was part of the famous Saint Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne Offensives. He was cited for gallantry in action and special meritorious service.
