    State Owned Beaches

The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) manages over 50 freshwater inland beaches within the Commonwealth's State Park system and a number of saltwater ocean beaches. Most DCR swimming beaches are open to the public between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During that time DCR offers access to parking, restroom facilities, and regular water quality testing. Many DCR beaches also offer lifeguard services. After Labor Day and before Memorial Day, DCR does not conduct regular water quality testing or guarantee other beach services.
