Mayor Thomas M. Menino will join Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) Executive Director/ Boston’s Chief of Human Services, Daphne Griffin, in launching the new “BCYF Recreation Center at Madison Park” on Saturday, December 10th at 11:00 AM.

BCYF’s new Recreation Center at Madison Park is a re-purposed facility that will allow BCYF’s Recreation Division to expand and enhance its current program offerings as well as to develop new initiatives to improve the quality and accessibility of recreation, sports and fitness programs citywide in community centers and in the neighborhoods.  The Rec Center, which is shared space with Madison Park High School, features two gymnasiums, a swimming pool, football field, dance studio, tennis courts, running track, a workshop training room and other spaces.

In addition to touring the center, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about programming that will be offered, attend a coaches clinic, participate in family fitness activities, join in water fun activities/learn basic swimming and water safety and more.
