Having already showcased the talents of the Boston Children's Chorus and the New England Conservatory Millennium Choir, the Strand Spotlight continues with two very special events. These events are free to the general public.

On Saturday, October 25th at 8 p.m., newly formed orchestra- Discovery Ensemble will play their launch concert featuring the music of Stravinsky and Beethoven Symphony No. 5. This 40-member orchestra of exceptional young Boston musicians believes everyone should be exposed to the passion and life-changing power of classical music. This special performance will involve interactive elements where the orchestra will explain the various pieces to the audience.

On Saturday, November 1st at 2 & 8 p.m., renowned dance company Anna Myer and Dancers perform Street Talk Suite Talk – the company's newest work fusing rap, contemporary dance, and music for violin. The piece has been developed through a collaborative process involving the choreographer, seven young poet-rappers, seven dancers, the composer Jakov Jakoulov, and violinist Mark Berger. Advisors to the project include Anthony Toombs and Robert Macy from the On-Track Initiative. Street Talk, Suite Talk forges bonds between these diverse worlds, with all working to create a common vision.
