Veteran's Day Traffic and Parking Restrictions

Boston Transportation Department Commissioner Thomas J. Tinlin announced today that parking at the city's approximately 7,000 meters will be free on Veteran's Day, Saturday, November 11, 2006. Parking meter fees will be required on Friday, November 10th.

In addition, the annual Veteran's Day parade will be held on Saturday, November 11th beginning at 1 PM at the Boston Common. An estimated 1500 participants will march from the Boston Common to Charles Street to Boylston Street to Tremont Street and end at City Hall Plaza. Streets along the parade route are expected to close for a short period of time as the parade progresses.

To accommodate the parade, parking will be restricted on the following streets:
• Beacon Street, south side, from opposite Joy Street to Park Street
• Boylston Street, both sides, from Charles Street to Tremont Street
• Cambridge Street, both sides, from the u-turn slot at the driveway onto City Hall Plaza to Tremont Street
• Tremont Street, both sides, from Cambridge Street to Boylston Street.
