WHEN:          TODAY, Thursday, August 7, 5-7 p.m.

WHERE:        BCYF Curtis Hall Community Center, 20 South Street, Jamaica Plain

WHAT:          A free family-friendly neighborhood block party with a variety of free activities including a cookout, swimming, ice cream, games and activities, summer programming information and more.  Tonight’s Block Party is one of the many activities in JP celebrating JP Centre/South Main Streets “First Thursday.”   Tonight’s First Thursday includes an Art Walk, the 3rd Annual South Street Block Party, over 60 artists, 52 business locations, food carts, 12 live music locations, DJs, dancers, clowns, henna tattoos, LGH farmers market, Screen on the Green, beer/wine tastings, discounts and more!

Following the Block Party there will be a teen-only Summer Splash from 6-11 p.m. featuring music, food, basketball, swimming and more!

This Block Party is part of BCYF’s extensive summer menu which includes free weekday drop-in programs at 10 locations in Boston called “Summer Fun Stops,” three free weekday sports centers, 50 summer day camps and programs at the centers, 20 recreation programs and tournaments including the renowned Boston Neighborhood Basketball League, youth employment programs and many special events.  Info: http://www.cityofboston.gov/BCYF/programs/Summer.asp.
