At approximately 2:05 p.m. Boston Police Officers from District A-7 responded to 198 Byron Street in East Boston to investigate a report of a woman who found her mother in the basement of their home. The caller said her mother was unconscious and that her head was covered. When officers arrived they found the woman unresponsive. At 2:12 p.m. the 45-year-old woman was pronounced dead by EMS personnel on scene. Homicide detectives were notified and are investigating the circumstances of this woman's death. Homicide and district detectives are in the process of conducting interviews and applying for a search warrant for the residence. No further information is available at this time.
