Patriot’s Day Holiday – Monday April 20, 2015

Municipal Offices: CLOSED (includes all City buildings, Boston Public Schools, Community Centers & Libraries).
Trash & Recycling: ONE DAY LATE for remainder of week except Boston Proper, Roxbury, Charlestown, & South Boston; see schedule for full details.
Street Cleaning: Overnight sweeping Sunday - Monday morning (weather permitting) still in effect. NO Monday daytime street cleaning (except overnight cleaning between 12:01 AM and 7:00 AM on posted arterials).
MBTA: See for commuter rail, bus, and subway schedule.
Traffic & Parking: FREE meters, time limit NOT in effect. All other parking rules remain in effect. Marathon-related road closures & parking restrictions in effect. Read Full Advisory
Tow Lot: Closes 1:00 PM Saturday, April 19; reopens 7:00 AM Tuesday (kiosks open 24 hours for cash, Visa, or MasterCard payments).

    One Year Later: Resources for Coping with Emotional Stress

    The Boston Public Health Commission understands that  the one year anniversary of the unexpected, traumatic events ​of April 15, 2013 ​will be challenging for many people​.

    With this in mind, they are pleased to host a forum for Copley area residents, employees, and businesses aimed at teaching attendees coping strategies for dealing with trauma. This informal gathering will be led by a counselor who specializes in the field of trauma.

The more fragile keepsakes have been moved to the city archives in West Roxbury where they can be viewed, while items such as running shoes, stuffed animals, and baseball hats will remain in Copley Square for some time.

    Join the City of Boston, the nation, and the world in a moment of silence on Tuesday, April 15 at 2:49 PM in memory of the tragic events of the 2013 Boston Marathon.

    A Boston Marathon Tribute will be held at the Hynes Convention Center on Tuesday, April 15 to honor those affected by last year’s events, including those who lost lives, survivors, and first responders. The 118th running of the Boston Marathon will take place on Monday, April 21.
