Mayor Janey was on hand for the unveiling of two new murals at the William E. Carter American Legion Post 16 in Mattapan. The murals, painted by local graffiti artist Jeremy 'Sobek' Harrison, pay tribute to both the iconic imagery of Mattapan and the 100th anniversary of the William E. Carter Post, the first chartered African-American Legion Post in Massachusetts. The murals were commissioned as a result of the BPDA's PLAN: Mattapan Public Art Project which seeks to collaborate with the local community to create a vision for public art in Mattapan. |
