Working with the Office of Constituent Engagment and the Public Works Department, the City of Boston developed a household waste lookup tool to help constituents find how to dispose of waste properly. The City of Boston offers regular trash and recycling collection along with special collection events for hazardous waste, e-waste, and special paint swaps.
How the Lookup Tool Works
The directory allows constituents to search by item and learn the item’s specific disposal instructions. Or the constituent can search by disposal category (trash, recycling, etc.) for general disposal instructions based on the category of the item.
