Throughout history, Boston has been a destination for people from all over the world. The We Are Boston Gala creates an environment of inclusiveness that embraces and celebrates all of Boston’s diversity.
The We Are Boston Gala is about:
- Creating an environment of inclusiveness that embraces and celebrates all of Boston’s diversity;
- Lifting up Boston’s immigrant heritage;
- Celebrating Boston’s immigrant contributions;
- Affirming and connecting new and old Bostonians of different ages, from different nations, those who came freely, as well as those who were brought here against their will;
- Acknowledging and appreciating Boston’s Native American Populations;
- Inspiring Bostonians to reclaim and take pride in Boston’s immigrant roots and history; and
- Engaging diverse communities and sectors as participants in embracing Boston’s multicultural richness.
Event Proceeds
Proceeds from the We Are Boston Gala help support the English for New Bostonians Initiative, a city-private-community partnership providing access to English classes and other crucial programs to more than one thousand New Bostonians, enabling them to be full participants in Boston. The event also supports the New Bostonians Summit initiative, which brings together leaders from various sectors to address key issues faced by immigrant communities: ESOL, Jobs, and Education.
