Military Reservists Called to Active Duty Policy

Whereas there is a distinct possibility that City of Boston employees will be called to active duty as a result of the Attack on America, it is hereby ordered and directed:
  1. The Office of Human Resources shall notify all departments that any reservist called to active duty will be paid his/her full City salary minus their compensation received from the military. In addition, activated employees are to remain in the City's Health Benefit Program at their current group rate.

  2. Employees must submit to their Department Heads an official copy of their activation orders, as well as a signed official military document that details their total military compensation.

  3. The full implementation of this policy, as it relates to other personnel benefit, will be addressed by the Director of Human Resources in a detailed memo to follow.

  4. This Executive Order shall be effective September 18, 2001.
