In addition, the City of Boston owns and operates 34 municipal parking lots in residential neighborhoods throughout the city that provide off-street parking for residents and short-term parking for customers of local business establishments. A multitude of privately owned parking lots and garages offer another estimated 134,000 parking spaces to Boston drivers.
