BTD has hired HNTB to help develop the Fenway - Longwood - Kenmore Transportation and Pedestrian Safety Action Plan.
Background Material
Overview of Action Plan
In 2006, the Massachusetts Legislature passed a sweeping economic stimulus bill. The bill allocated $55 million towards public right-of-way and transit improvements. Included in the bill is funding for the Fenway - Longwood - Kenmore Transportation and Pedestrian Action Plan. The Action Plan will develop a strategy for implementing other components in the economic stimulus bill. The central policy directive informing the use of the new funding is to address growing demand by improving transit access, reducing congestion on major streets, and by creating a pedestrian friendly environment.
