In Spring 2009, the Boston Transportation Department released the Fenway - Longwood - Kenmore Transportation and Pedestrian Action Plan that identified three projects to improve safety and provide an enhanced environment for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and transit riders in the Fenway area:
