Report Crime AnonymouslyThe Boston Police Crime Stoppers Program highlights unsolved crimes of violence in the local media, appealing to the public for information. You don't have to reveal your identity to tell the police about a violent crime. And, if your information results in the arrest and indictment of an offender, you will be eligible for an award of up to $1,000.
The Office of Emergency Management coordinates the City's homeland security and emergency management programs. They have programs such as Ready Boston: a city-wide community preparedness initiative meant to educate and empower Bostonians about the hazards they may face and meant to encourage residents to prepare for all types of emergencies, and Alert Boston: the City's emergency notification system.
Fire Safety & Prevention
The Fire Prevention Division in the Boston Fire Department directs fire prevention activities, handles more technical fire prevention problems, and conducts public education programs. Residents are encouraged to educate themselves in the methods of fire safety and prevention.
