Emergency Shelter Commission
The Emergency Shelter Commission coordinates the City's efforts to prevent and end homelessness and hunger through proactive planning, policy analysis, program development and advocacy with our city, state, federal and community partner agencies.
Veterans Services
The Veterans' Services Department provides financial and medical assistance to veterans and their dependents residing in Boston and assists all veterans in obtaining whatever benefits (federal,state or local) to which they may be entitled.
Office of Civil Rights Commission
The Office of Civil Rights was created in 1995 as a human rights umbrella agency responsible for enforcing and coordinating all anti-discrimination ordinances in the City of Boston. OCR consists of three main program areas: The Boston Fair Housing Commission (BFHC), The Human Rights Commission (HRC), and the Commission for Persons with Disabilities (CPWD).
Women's Commission
The Women's Commission provides technical assistance to individuals and organizations on issues concerning women and advocates for increased attention to public policy initiatives that affect women's equal participation, economic security, family commitments, health, and safety.
Boston Public Health Commission
The Boston Public Health Commission manages information on the latest health issues and topics; such as measles and west nile virus. They also provide health services and information for residents.
