Welcome to the Boston Police Department's Bureau of Public Information website. As a part of the Office of the Police Commissioner, Media Relations provides public information to local and national media outlets, conducts news conferences and interviews, and provides Department spokespersons to ensure that the public receives timely and accurate information about department-related activities, programs, services and personnel.

The Boston Police Department continues its mission to maintain close relationships with the neighborhoods of Boston, and the local news media. Today however, that is not enough. This website provides us the opportunity to reach the "online community" so critical in today's information age.
