to the public for information. Our toll free tip line number

to the appropriate investigators.
You don't have to reveal your identity

information results in the arrest and indictment of an offender, you will be
eligible for an award of up to $1,000.

Crime Stoppers wants information
on every type of crime. The tipline is not recorded or traced, and we are
not interested in the caller's identity. We believe Crime Stoppers offers
a way for callers to rid their neighborhoods of crime SAFELY. This method
has proven successful in over 900 CITIES WORLD WIDE thanks to Crime
Stopper programs.
The Boston Police Foundation is a non-profit,
501(C)3 organization comprised of concerned business, educational and community
leaders dedicated to assisting the Boston Police Department in our efforts
to combat violent crime. With the Foundation's help, the Boston Police
Department is able to fund innovative programs such as Crime Stoppers.
The Foundation provides the cash rewards to callers whose information leads
to the arrest and indictment of wanted persons. Additionally, contributions
to the Boston Police Foundation fund promotional material for the program.
Corporate in-kind contributions have included a pro-bono advertising campaign,
and free billboard space throughout Boston. For more information
contact T. William Fitzgerald, Chairman.
Each week, the media partners in the Boston
Police Crime Stoppers Program air on television and print in the newspaper
accounts of crimes under investigation. The detective assigned to the case
presents the facts and if there is a suspect, provides a
photograph or artist's sketch. These appeals aid the detective in obtaining
the missing information needed to make an arrest. There is also an opportunity
for the victims of these crimes to come forward and make their appeal for
help. Every news outlet in Boston features these segments during their
broadcasts form Tuesday through Friday.
The Boston Police Crime Stoppers Tipline
takes calls from 8:00am until 5:00pm Monday through Friday. You can also leave a voice mail message after-hours. Naturally,
if there is a crime occurring immediately, we encourage callers to dial
911.
