Recreation Programs

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department offers free youth athletic programs, clinics, and camps in neighborhood parks citywide, as well as local community centers in partnership with Boston Centers for Youth & Families.

Choose from a wide variety of healthy activities including golf lessons, tennis with our partner Tenacity, the All Girls Sports Festival, Sox Talks with Boston Red Sox players and coaches, a visit to the Fenway Park batting cages, Sports Centers at Moakley Park, East Boston Stadium, and White Stadium in Franklin Park, Mayor’s Cup golf, baseball, cross country, soccer, softball, and hockey tournaments, and much more.

    Sign up here for the Boston Neighborhood Basketball League

    The Boston Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Reebok, is now registering teams for the 46th season of the Boston Neighborhood Basketball League. Teams are in three divisions each for boys and girls: 13 and under, 15 and under, 18 and under. This year, we are introducing a new website enabling parents to register their children from any computer/smartphone. Coaches will also be able to register online and manage their team rosters as well as communicate with players and parents. Registration begins June 1 and games begin on Monday, July 6.     Moakley Park Sports Center opens July 6

    The Moakley Park Sports Center in South Boston is a full day drop-in program for Boston residents ages 7 to 14. The program starts on Monday, July 6, and runs through August 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children will participate in many traditional and non-traditional recreation activities. Parents may register their children for one day, a week, or the entire summer.

    Boston Neighborhood Soccer League team registration

    Registration for The Boston Neighborhood Soccer League clinic (BNSL) takes place from July 6 through July 9 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Millennium Park, 300 Gardner Street, West Roxbury.  BNSL is a 5-week developmental soccer league/clinic for Boston neighborhood youth teams U10 - U1​2​ running through the weeks of July 13 to August 13. The objective of the league/clinic is to foster player development.

    White Stadium Sports Center starts July 7!

    The White Stadium Sports Center full-day drop-in program for Boston residents ages 7 to 14 begins July 7 and concludes August 14. Instruction is offered on a weekly basis in basketball, volleyball, track & field, tennis, girl’s fitness, boy’s fitness, and Double Dutch. Additionally, there will be scheduled weeks for baseball, softball, soccer, rugby and football. The fundamentals of each sport, training and conditioning, sportsmanship, ethics, nutrition, wellness and self-esteem are taught daily. To register, please click the links below!

    Join us this summer for the East Boston Sports Center!

    Join the Boston Parks and Recreation Department this summer for the East Boston Sports Center at Sartori Stadium, 143 Porter St., East Boston. This program is a full day drop-in program for youth ages 7 to 14 with an array of supervised activities including sports, games, and arts and crafts. The program starts on Tuesday, July 7, and runs through August 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited.
