Improvements to Laviscount and Mt Pleasant Playgrounds
These neighborhood parks were last renovated in 1993 & 1991. Since they are both in Roxbury, the existing play equipment in both parks were manufactured by the same company, they share many other details, and they have the same design and construction timeline, there is a logic in putting the renovation of the two play areas in the same construction documents. In both playgrounds, the play structures are very solid, but need upgrading. However, they may not need to be replaced. This approach should be explored for cost implications. During preliminary investigations it was noted that poured-in-place safety surface might be called for. New site furnishings, water play, lighting, fence rehabilitation and upgraded hard scape are also possibilities.

Request for Expressions of Interest - Adaptive Reuse of the Agassiz Road Shelter, Back Bay Fens
The Boston Parks and Recreation Department is seeking Expressions of Interest for the reuse of the historic "Duck House" structure on Agassiz Road in the Back Bay Fens. This is not an RFP, rather the city is seeking reuse ideas and strategies which will help inform and guide a possible future RFP process. Document available for download includes RFEI information, cost estimates, building assessments, and a charrette summary. All parties who download the package and provide an email address will be sent a copy of the Usage Survey findings via email.
