Can I sign up by myself?
Yes! Boston Shines is a great way to give back to your neighborhood. Your Neighborhood Coordinator will be happy to assign you to a project close by in your neighborhood.
What projects will I be working on?
Your Neighborhood Coordinator will be setting up projects around your neighborhood. They will be working on setting up projects in parks and public spaces. Clean up could include picking up trash, sweeping and raking, light landscaping, and brush clearing.
What will the City provide on the day of Boston Shines?
The City tries to provide t-shirts, tools, and gloves for participants delivered directly to their project sites. We are always happy to accept donations of materials or money for Boston Shines.
Are there any new projects not offered in prior years?
Yes! Mayor Walsh has encouraged all residents to take pride in their neighborhoods, and specifically their streets by helping to clean the sidewalks and other public spaces on their street. If you would like to join a Sidewalk Team, please indicate that on your registration.
