Every year, volunteers have come together in the spring to participate in a citywide clean up event. Make our communities more beautifu by helping us plant flowers, sweep, rake and pick up trash.
A Boston Shines project is a team effort that makes your neighborhood cleaner and more beautiful!
Where: your local park, school yard, street, sidewalk, or any other public (City) property
What: clearing brush, laying down mulch (but no painting!)
Who: neighbors, business volunteers, public organizations, public agencies; anyone!
Each spring, we organize citywide Boston Shines projects for three consecutive weekends. Registration opens about two months before the clean up dates. Register as an individual, group, or organization to participate.
|April 22nd & 23rd||1|
|April 29th & 30th||2|
|May 6th & 7th||3|
You can always set up your own project too. Spring, summer, and fall months are best. Projects are most often scheduled on Saturdays, but they can happen 365 days a year.
The City of Boston will pick up the trash and supplies when the cleanup is over.
Contact the Mayor’s Hotline to notify the City of any issues, including:
Potholes, Graffiti, Litter;
Trees in need of pruning;
Or any other issues that the City should know about.
Remember that you can always let the City know how your neighborhood could be even better. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, feel free to get in touch via 311!
